Proclaim Liberty – Who are Christians?

First, the word “Christian” is used today for a lot of things. The simplest definition is say it’s a “follower of Christ”, but the scripture itself tells us about the first use of the adjective form of Christ:

Acts 11:26  And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

That is a reference to the disciples in Antioch, those who joined the movement in its first days, in answer to the Great Commission of Mark 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

The gospel is the simple basic salvation message:

1 Corinthians 15:1  ¶Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

“Neither do I condemn thee”, said Jesus to the adulterous woman, but you have spiritual heirs of the Pharisees today who want to stone not only the adulterous woman, but there have other branches of that self-righteous family tree today that want to criminalize such doctrines as Christ’s love toward the adulterous woman, putting in danger thousands of Christian ministries.

What the Brownshirt factions don’t realize is that they are being used as cannon fodder by their manipulators against dissidents. The biggest danger to tyrants is people who are not afraid to violate thought bans, and the ones who are least intimidated by such bans are the ones who know that we all answer to a higher authority.

Children are their own reward, like it says, in spite of the propaganda of the self-appointed rulers of society want to eliminate great numbers of us to a more manageable number for them to control.

Genesis 1:22  And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

One of the great unscientific myths is what they call “overpopulation’. But over what they never say, except when pressed they say it’s having more population than the resources can support. Well, if you think everybody has to have the resources to live with the material accouterments that George Soros has, then, sure, that might be a problem.

But then technology has advanced in such leaps and bounds that the phenomenon of computer chip capacity multiplying exponentially has its parallel in the world of science and other technologies.

This is one of those areas where people set up limits for their own thinking. Fact of the matter is, the greater danger these days is already being felt in many “developed” countries, where the native populations are not procreating, and numbers are maintained by immigration.

The dangers in coming years, but they have more to do with God’s judgments on those that think they can reject him and his love and his loving truth without suffering the promised consequences.

The Great Commission

Shortly before Jesus ascended into heaven, he told his followers to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to all the world”.

Christians are all a-bluster about those bad Muslims, about the sorry state of affairs in society today, lots of worries, and many concerns are real. But when we realize what sacrifice many before us have made to bring the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, and with the shortness of time, it should make us excited about racing to make salvation available to as many as possible around the world.

Luke 4:18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

What did Jesus found his church on?

Answering dribbles of doubts with the Word of God….

Christianity was not created for many years (centuries perhaps) until after Jesus died.

You might say that the Roman Catholic Church was “not created” as such “for many years”. But “Christianity” as in followers of Christ, that’s been from since Jesus and his disciples walked in the flesh, as you can see from the definitions below.

Jesus Himself did not declare that He was a non-Jew. Notably, He celebrated Passover. He was described by John the Baptist as the Jewish Messiah. So the evidence that He retained his Jewishness until His ascension is plentiful enough, and a very convincing argument can be made along those lines.

Ha. More than that, he was the Son of David, and through Abraham’s seed all the world is blessed. And not only Jesus is Jewish, let’s see who is a Jew?

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

And a common misconception:

And yet the Holy Roman Catholic Church traces its founding to Peter. Peter, whom Jesus specifically spoke of as the one He would build His church on.

The word “church” comes from ekklesia — “the called-out ones”, the body of Jesus Christ. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Which church is founded upon the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God Incarnate, who was crucified as an expiatory sacrifice for the sins of the world, arose from the dead to prove victory over death, sin and incidentally Satan, and ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the throne of God, and is coming back soon.

Elsewhere, like Luke 4, the word used is ho synagogue – this synagogue. It is not a translation artefact; why would Jesus Himself not say ‘synagogue’ unless He were contemplating something new, something not-Jewish?

In Luke 4 he was in an actual synagogue, it was not “church”, like he was describing in Matthew 16, which was when the disciples were called from among the world to be separate. “Be ye separate” like it says in Revelation.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

That is what a “church” is. Not those grotesque million-dollar palaces they call “churches”:

Jeremiah 7:4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

Of course we can never know…

We CAN know what we are told in the Bible, and it is plenty enough unless you do not receive a love for the truth.

But obviously there are many millions who subscribe to the notion that Jesus was in fact founding a new church, a new religion, a new faith – one that required Jews to be converted. Saint Paul certainly thought so, and he was only barely after Christ, time-wise.

Sorry but Paul didn’t think so. There were a lot of new things to accept — Christ was a “stumblingblock” to the Jews of the day for sure– but Christ was the continuation of the same thing God was doing from Adam on. This is what Paul was explaining in major parts of all his various epistles, especially the book of Hebrews, that it salvation was ALWAYS by grace from the beginning, and Jesus himself said he came as fulfillment of the law and the prophets:

So Jesus was the Messiah, and the Jews that “await the Messiah” today are testimony to the fact that Jesus and the apostles were the true Bible-observant and Bible-believing Jews of his day, and the ones that rejected Christ were just more of the same tradition of a rebellious and stiff-necked people. It was Jesus with his disciples who continued the work of the grace of God among the Jews, and then the Gentiles who believed by faith were “grafted” to the “natural” branch, which was by faith anyway.

Acts 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
51 ¶Ye stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

So the true church of Jesus Christ is the body of believers, and it is built on the foundation stone, the rock Christ Jesus.

The foundation rock of Christ’s church is himself as Christ, the Son of the living God

There is a a very common misinterpretation obviously pushed by the Roman Catholic Church, which conveniently also mostly skips over the passages that also talk about his brothers and sisters, but reading the passage in context you get the real deal.

Founding a church on Peter is about as reliable as his sinking into the water when his faith faltered in the sea, and his three denials of Christ before the cock crowed. That kind of “foundation” is like the house that Jesus said was shaky sandy ground, that collapses at the first wind of a corrupt organization that on the whim of its political hierarchy bans the Bible in which supposed basis for the ROMAN Catholic Church was founded.

Okay, let’s see now, upon what rock did Paul say was the “chief corner stone”:

Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

So what was Jesus talking about with Peter?

Matthew 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Okay look again at Matthew 16, where Jesus used Peter’s name –which Jesus had given him– to make the point that his fact of who Jesus Christ is –The Christ, the Son of the living God— he would build his church:

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus as socialist-Nyet

Somebody parodied Jesus as a socialistic presidential candidate:

He’s not a politician:

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Here’s the contempt he has for picayune political aspirations and people who follow whoever says he’ll fill their bellies:

Jesus’ poll numbers have never been high, and they did not last as a majority very long, because most people are fooled by demagogues:

Some demagogues do assail Jesus’ admonition to feed the hungry but that would only be some of the Ayn Rand atheists and I suspect not even all of them.

But the politicians who SAY to want to feed the hungry but want to do it with someone else’s money get this rebuke from Jesus:

Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess

Here is what Jesus thought about the hypocrisy of making a show of “feeding the hungry” but steal their neighbor’s food by force to do it:

Meantime, there are those who actually do feed the hungry but to do it they don’t rob the middle class with taxes and they don’t rob the poor by throwing fiat money at it. –Like the widow who cast in more than any lying thieving “social justice” politician and socialist ever did. –Like the Good Samaritan.

Here’s what he thought about hypocrites who claim to fulfill the prophets’ admonitions to help the poor –but only when they think it justifies stealing from their neighbors– and whereas in truth they actually steal from the widows and orphans and poor (us) to give to their friends:

Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Only in Hollywood do they say Jesus pushed socialism, where they hate Jesus Christ and anybody who believes in him, except when they talk “socialism”, because they think giving what costs them nothing gets the same credit as giving till it hurts:

2 Samuel 24:24 And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

What they don’t realize is that stealing from the rich brings a curse on the land and a drought, strip the ground bare. It leaves no seed corn and the diligent farmers go to where the land is still fertile and thieves have not brought the land to ruin.

As Jesus advocated turning the other cheek, he was denounced as a pacifist and weak on foreign policy.

But what brought out the demonstration of physical judgment most, as it to show how the oppressors would deceive the people in the 20th and 21st centuries, were the moneychangers. He would not be marching on Wall Street, he would be driving the moneychangers out of the Federal Reserve and all the Central Banks of the world, and give the currency sharks like George Soros, champion of stealing middle class money for “philanthropy”, a good kick in the rear too:

Fact: The union bosses would hate him, because he believed in individual liberty to negotiate your own pay and condemned payroll envy and pay mandates very explicitly, using an example of the (“rich”?) landowner that hires help, gives the latecomers a job and pays them the same as the ones that worked longer (because they needed it too):

(Equal pay opens the door for good employers to both reward productive work but to help people that need it)

But it’s a fact: the plutocrat billionaires that are pushing for total world political control through the dictatorship of the Beast and heading toward economic control using the Mark of the Beast, and using socialism as a cover, will devastate the world globally in the end and the ones left to pick up the pieces will be the meek.

Meantime the rich nations like America that have become fat, increased in this world’s goods, and “have need of nothing”, and “sit a queen: I shall see no sorrow”, always decline and leave it for the rest.

Fact check: Jesus’ genealogy was rock-solid documented, as the Jews kept detailed and accurate documentation as to who beget who, and the genealogy of his birthright to the title of Messiah as being of the lineage of David is in the first chapter of Matthew 1 and Luke 3, showing the line of ancestors on both his father’s and his mother’s sides.

While he had not permanent address as an adult (“The son of man hath nowhere to lay his head”), his genealogy was rock-solid.

Unquestionable son of David, he.

Imagine that, Jesus among us and they still feel like they can take his name in vain like this dribble of fact-challenged and logic-challenged word spaghetti. He’ll cast them into outer darkness for using his name in vain, same as he will the other hypocrites who preach in his name…
