It is impossible to have faith unless you have the Word.

The Bible says that faith comes from the Word of God (Romans 10:17). That’s a basic spiritual law, as sure as what goes up comes down. So if you’re weak in faith it’s because you’re weak in the Word.

The cure for doubts is the Word. Faith comes, it grows, by hearing the Word of God. It’s not a sudden boom. It is something that is built by faithful study of God’s Word.

Faith isn’t something you work up, muster up, or polish up by your own efforts and strength. Accepting faith through His Word is a work of God’s grace. All you have to do is desire and receive it. Jesus even gives you faith to believe His Word. Jesus is the “author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).

Don’t neglect His Word. It is food for your soul and gives you strength for the daily battles of life. It is His Word by His Spirit in His love that makes you strong. So read it prayerfully and ask God to increase your faith, and He will. He never fails! He’ll always answer the hungry heart.

Greek for then, English for now

Whatever past estimates or surveys have found, as elusive as precision is with this, it should be obvious by now, 2016, that English is not just on its way to dominate as the language most rapidly growing in usage, and dominant in ALL usage in international forums.

Sure, French dominated for awhile in the expanding WESTERN cultural spheres, Latin before that, Greek before that. Now it is English in ALL cultural spheres, and the militantly anti-Christ pagans and atheists who now rule are trying to capture the definitions into their “Newspeak”.

I made friends with a group of air traffic controllers in Medellin Colombia at an international airport there. I’m sure that all of them around the world have to speak the technical “aviation English”, but these guys said they ALL have to learn non-hyphenated FLUENT English, so that in an emergency there is a fast common understanding. They said all international PILOTS too. For example, language fluency (lack thereof) was suggested in one recent year when there was a passenger jet that crashed in New York because it ran out of fuel.

The foremost ESL computer hackers –good guys and bad guys too I’m sure– are admonish by their ESL peers to learn English to become good programmers for a number of reasons.

I used to despise the idea of arrogant American tourists demanding the natives speak English to them. Nowadays my wife tells me there are Cuban patients in the assisted living home who demand the workers there speak Spanish to them. (Takes all kinds. I had a Cuban boss who rebuked a co-worker for speaking Spanish to me though I’m fluent).

NOTE that I am not KJBO because the language is English, but English just happens to be in the direction where one would look for God’s best characteristics for his perfect preserved word.

The most influential persons and groups in the world among their peers are English-speakers.

Not everyone need speak it for this to matter in the which-version topic. Just as in the times of Christ, when we all know why God used Greek through his servants to spread the WRITTEN gospel throughout the world and with most effect in diverse cultures.

Who are we to tell God he cannot do the same thing for the 20th and even more so, the 21st centuries?
