Righteousness was always and always will be by faith not works!

April 30, 2010

What’s absurd is to actually declare out loud that there was anytime in history, present or future when anybody will merit salvation by his own works, in great contrast to the multitude of verses in the KJB that are so clear that it will be a sum total of nobody! Just one! There is “none good, but the Father only”! Do you think there was ever a time when NOT all have come short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin were death, and only by the grace of God we are not consumed every day?

/That/ is what is so bothersome about all this.

And Phillipians 3:6 is being used to actually defend this? That’s like an evolutionist using the fossils evidence for NO transitional forms whatsoever and claiming it supports his theory of evolution! This is amazing! Especially since the KJB is so crystal clear on this one, there’s not even a glass darkly!

Philippians 3:6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Blameless! That was Paul, making the very point that all that law was DUNG! And it stinks worse!
Philippians 3:9 ¶And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Scofield’s Dispensations: Diabolical Deceit

April 29, 2010

Peter talked about “dispensation”, but he’s definitely not talking about Cyrus Scofield‘s version of it.

Scofield’s “dispensations” were not Paul’s “dispensations”. Scofield’s dispensations were a total “confidence” scam, just like the guy himself, having spent time in prison for one scheme. They should have locked up his Darby perversion of the word in the cell with him, and thrown away the key, together with this false dispensationalism and this false “pre-trib rapture”.

Paul’s dispensations are pure grace, grace, grace, as in the verses he penned all through his epistles.

AND Paul made clear in Hebrews 13 that the shining saints of the Old Testament were all saved by faith in Jesus Christ, and faith alone, and that their works were /fruits/ of their faith.

Included in that famous list of FAITH is a guy who gave his wife to the Pharoah as his sister, the wife who disbelieved God’s word that she would bear a son in her old age, a material-minded Esau, the deceiver Jacob, the impatient Moses kept back from the Promised Land for his act of disobedience, and so on.

Who can doubt that Enoch, Abel, Noah, and all their best works put together, came short of the glory of God? Jesus told us if we do /ALL/ that we are commanded, we are still “unprofitable” servants. (Luke 17:10) Does that sound like someone who /deserves/ salvation based on their works?

“Lest any man should boast!”

Sure, there is a sense in which it became more evident after Jesus Christ came in the flesh, the whole law, set up for works, is only our /schoolmaster to bring us to Christ/. Paul couldn’t make more plain that the whole purpose of the OT, the laws and the prophets, the whole thing, was to show us there was NO WAY we could earn salvation.

There are things that are different after Christ, whence The law came by Moses, but grace and truth by Jesus Christ. God’s expectations of us are now both much less and much more. Much less in terms of Do this, Don’t do that, Eat this, Don’t Eat That, and so forth, and much more in terms of the new commandment Jesus gave us, and the emphasis on the two first and greatest commandments.

Jesus and Paul

April 29, 2010

Some say their doctrine comes from the Pauline epistles rather than the teachings of Jesus. How anyone can miss Jesus’ own preaching of grace and truth requires long hours of Bible study using notes from outside the Bible, because it’s not in the Bible!

The Sermon on the Mount starts like this:
Matthew 5:1 ¶And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

That’s not the Roman Church there, that’s Matthew, and “when he was set, his disciples came unto him”.

Who came unto him, and he taught them? Of course some actually claim that sermon is not for Christians!

Heard this even: ‘The “fool” doctrine of Matt 5 definitely DOES NOT align with Paul’s epistles (Gal 3; I Cor 15)’

Of COURSE it does. And it’s not a “fool doctrine” either. Paul starts right out in Galatians 3 reminding them that they did NOT receive the spirit by works but by the “hearing of faith”. (Emphasis mine) Same as those who heard Jesus’ teachings. “Thou alone hast the words of eternal life”, Peter told him.

“Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:25)
“Thy faith hath made thee whole (Matt 9:22, Mark 10:52, Lk 17:19)
“O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee..” (Mt 15:28)
“Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole;.. (Mt 5:34, Luke 8:48)
“..Feat not: believe only, and she shall be made whole” (Lk 8:50)

Forgiveness of sins and God’s mercy was not only the central theme of the OT –like it or not– but of Jesus’ ministry. Search it out, there is a a multitude of verses in the gospels that show Jesus’ ministry preaching that their sins were forgiven them because of their faith!

Jesus also tried to teach them all that nobody keeps the law, especially the ones that claim they do:
John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

He gave them an example where they broke the law by keeping the law, and at the same time, demonstrated the really only “law” left as mandate with his fulfillment of the law, the Law of Love:
John 7:23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

Jesus did not bring another law, either, he brought grace and truth:
John 1:15 ¶John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

His lessons on Raca, fool, and the rest were to show them what LOVE is, as opposed to the dead letter of the law (When was that principle ever different?!):

Meaning, this is what you should have done, and not left the other undone, all along from Moses’ day.

The thief on the cross at the end before the giving up of the ghost was redeemed by his faith in Jesus’ power to save him, period, end of story, no water baptism, no works at all except the confessing of his mouth, Lord!:
(Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.)

The publican was justified, the Pharisee was not:
Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Was Jesus talking about works with the the kingdom of God in Luke 18?
Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Do you think Jesus was telling the “certain ruler” in Luke 18 that the way to “inherit eternal life” was to sell everything and follow him? That’s preposterous! Why do you think he started the lesson with five of the “easier” commandments, the shalt nots? Don’t commit adultery, don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t bear false witness, honor thy father and thy mother.
Oh, yes! So that’s it? No, there’s more. Sell everything, give it all to the poor, and come follow me.
Okay guys, now the punchline that almost everybody misses, including Christians!
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God

See, only God can save you. It’s impossible to keep any fair standard of works, that’s true in the Garden, after the Garden, during and post-Flood, Abraham even David, you name them!

English and Bible Versions: God is Not the Author of Confusion

April 26, 2010

One interesting bit is from a Shakespeare web site:
http://www.shakespeare-online.com/biography/shakespearelanguage.html
where we find this little paragraph:

“.. By about 1450, Middle English was replaced with Early Modern English, the language of Shakespeare, which is almost identical to contemporary English….”

…thus presenting us with another voice that says we do not need a proliferation of “versions” today.

I suspect though that just like our English was stabilized by the universal and daily use of “The Holy Bible” over centuries, so the language of the Bible in Hebrew stabilized that language.

It is indisputable that the quick adaptation of the KJB in the 17th century and its ubiquitous use throughout the English-speaking world has kept the language itself stable through time and across geographies.

Somebody wrote once in debate on this:

“> Languages change, and translators are fallible.”

Just translators? How about prophets, kings, fugitive Egyptian princes, shepherd boys, beloved physicians, converted Pharisees, tax collectors, and fishermen, and the rest of the common folk who God used to put quill to canvas?

He wasn’t sure what my point was, so I clarified:

“Okay, spelled out, those are only a partial list of all the fallible people who put to paper the first-draft and the final editions of the “original autographs” in the Bible that we all agree was THE INERRANT word of God at that time.”

So the argument against a “translation” that has proven itself against all comers, including spurious criticisms that Jesus warned us against in Matthew 23:24. The Pharisees had traditions of men for making the word of God of none effect, straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel when it came to “interpreting” it, but now, since knowledge has increased and evil men wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, we have better stuff! We have “translations”!

God is not limited to “original” languages, and he proved it in Acts 2. He did it again in 1611.

I believe in translating it, but if they’re doing the “dynamic translation” thing instead of the “formal translation” thing then they are off track and missing the mark of the highest calling of God.

Like taking the phrase “white as snow” and making it “white as wool”? That’s taking away from and adding to, that’s not translating!

If we encounter a new word in a book, we can just look it up in a dictionary or consider the context. If a translator ahs trouble finding a suitable word, then just use the original word, a transliteration, or better yet, a word borrowed from English, the indisputable de-facto international language today.

We have thousands of imported words in English, why rob those who speak other languages of the same blessings?

Better than ‘dynamic’ translations would even be a direct translation of the KJB!

>What Acts 2 proves is that God is perfectly able and willing where appropriate to put his word in any languages he so pleases to do, and he is not limited by the wise pontificating of Pharisee school graduates indoctrinated way beyond their faith in his promises to preserve his word.

He has limited himself to preserving his word without confusion. “God is not the author of confusion”.

Not only “by their fruits ye shall know them”, and we can see the fruits of disbelief in the modern versions. For example, he did not produce two “original” Old Testaments in Hebrew, just one. The other one is not.

So Acts 2 shows is that he is NOT the author of confusion. To drive home the point, when it comes to getting the word of God into tongues, Paul wrote I Corinthians 12, speaking directly about the gift of tongues that we read about in Acts 2.

1 Corinthians 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

Alright class, pop quiz: How many do the “interpret” thing?

All of the complaints from modern version advocates about the English of the KJB, ALL of them, apply TEN TIMES MORE to Koine Greek and Solomon’s Hebrew. Those languages are DEAD, they are MUCH older than English.

Fossils Are Talking to You!

April 24, 2010

>>>(gluadys) And, that, by the way, –(that God is not a deceiver, therefore we can trust that our perceptions are of a real world)—is the reason I accept evolution. The “real world stuff” leads to no other conclusion.

Nice try. See below what God tells us about that philosophically in Romans about that: Notice that it says we understand his invisible things by what was made, which is polar opposite to the spontaneous accidental PAGAN darwinian model.

The “real world stuff” is Creation, Creation. No matter you’ve acted like the Brits, who, coming upon their first platypus, felt sorry for the “poor otter”, poor victim of some perverted joker, and tried for quite some time to unglue the duck’s beak from its snout. Poor platypus.

Presented with “real world stuff”, the only conclusion for them was an otter with a duck’s beak.

Evolution is nowhere to be seen. The strongest evidence is the “real world fossils”. They cry out Creation..

    The fossils

cry out: “There are no transitions!” The forensics scream out special separate Creation of “kinds”, which are what Steven Gould calls “forms” in paleontology.

The fossils cry out “Sudden flood!” , the precise conditions for fossilization.

The fossils say “waves of mud burying us alive in fast succession”. Go check where there are the narratives that talk about fossil fields, they all say this. Meaning they also cry out “sudden destruction”.

The fossils say “sudden simultaneous explosion of life” in the Cambrian layer. Not only that but “ALL high-level-major categories of body plans”, about a dozen or so, of which less than half persist today. This means they also cry out, following the “sudden and immediate explosion of life”, came “Sudden destruction!”.

The dinosaur fossils are BLEEDING red blood cells to send us a message from their mass grave that they did not live so long ago. “If you break me, do I not show you my bone marrow cell structures? If you consider me under a microscope, do I not bleed?”

The “missing link fossils that aren’t there” yell out with all their lungs that they DID NOT EXIST!, a vast void that rivals the emptiness between galaxy clusters.

The “pre-human fossils” cry out too, they will not shut up! “We are human!” Or another one “I am primate!” Or the other one: “I am just a sick kid!”

The “living fossils” are not only talking to us from the past, they are mocking us. “Fooled you, you fool” you say, you can’t fool me with that “No big deal” theater act. Extinct dinosaur pines, indeed. Coalecanth, indeed. But living fossils are not the only fossils mocking us…

“Fake fossils” make even bigger mockery of fools than “living fossils”, because they tell us the Emperor has no Clothes, and the Paleontologist Is Desperate for a Missing Link Because They Have None. they tell us that devout faithful darwinian pagan high priests are making fools of their gullible awestruck victims with their solemn pronouncements proclaiming yet another “creature older than these here hills”…

The real-world Chinese “dino-bird fossil” fraud cries out: There.is.no.dino-bird! Got that? Repeat now: There. Is. No. Dino-bird.

“Polystrate fossils are rolling on the floor laughing!” Because they’re saying, “I’m telling you all these layers around me came down in fast waves from a Big Flood and you think it’s cause I just snuck in here? What, you think God is a deceiver?!”

Real world fossils are the best testimony to a living God who created us.

We owe him our existence, and that’s the evidence the most mocking atheist does not want to see, whence the great deceit, the big lie of darwinoid evolution.

The fossils yell it loud, they yell it proud, they yell it here, they yell it there, they tell it everywhere:

“Darwin’s evolution is a big, fat, LIE!”

Romans 1:19 ¶Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

KJB English is for the 21st century

April 23, 2010

KJB critics complain about “archaic language”, and they say that the Bible was written in living languages at the time. But how would they know they were “not archaic forms” any more than the KJB is?

I suspect though that just like our English was stabilized by the universal and daily use of “The Holy Bible” over centuries, so the language of the Bible in Hebrew stabilized that language, and the Greek of those days as well.

NOT the other way around. They certainly didn’t need to “revise their versions” every twenty years. Thank God they couldn’t anyway.

I’ll bet the Hebrew in the Masoretic wasn’t the street talk of those days, especially the Psalms, the Proverbs, the Song of Solomon, Job, Jeremiah and the prophets, and rest of it too.

Modernists can jump up and down about how “poetic” Genesis One is so they can avoid a six-day Creation, then they turn around and say the rest of has to be in conversational English for this decade.

Here’s one quote:

“> Languages change, and translators are fallible.”

Just translators? How about prophets, kings, fugitive Egyptian princes, shepherd boys, beloved physicians, converted Pharisees, tax collectors, and fishermen, and the rest of the common folk who God used to put quill to canvas?

God is not limited to “original” languages, and he proved it in Acts 2. Seems like one overeducated intellectual thought Acts 2 is on his side of the fence, probably going to say something about getting the word of God into the languages people speak. God did it in 1611.

What Acts 2 proves is that God is perfectly able and willing where appropriate to put his word in any languages he so pleases to do, and he is not limited by the wise pontificating of Pharisee school graduates indoctrinated way beyond their faith in his promises to preserve his word.

All of the complaints about the English of the KJB, ALL of them, apply TEN TIMES MORE to Koine Greek and Solomon’s Hebrew. They are MUCH older than English, and we see from history that the self-important Pharisaical tendencies of over-educated intellectuals get them tripped off into rabbit holes.

Is the constitution unconstitutional?!

April 17, 2010

A judge in Michigan says she understands the constitution better than the original body that designed the American Constitution, and has declared the National Day of Prayer to be unconstitutional!

These are people raised in history classes where they deliver indoctrination instead of history!

The Constitutional Convention at one point was stuck in a stalemate, and it looked like we were going to be thirteen independent little states on their own. But Benjamin Franklin suggested that they all just do a serious prayer meeting to ask for God’s help. Once upon a time the Smithsonian featured a public showing of a painting of this prayer meeting, showing all those representatives on their knees seeking God for guidance. That would be before they started purging such tokens of America’s Christian beginnings.

Better for us, to free the National Day of Prayer from interference or compromise from the overbearing involvement of government.

But idiot rulings like this are insane, another contortion of logic that requires either limited thinking abilities or a malicious disregard for the letter AND spirit of the Constitution.

What religion does a National Day of Prayer establish, in view of the fact that the most diverse religions possible participate?

What atheist is prevented from practicing their own atheism however they like? After all, this is their claim when it comes to banning homage to God within public service.

And government money? They should complain, hey! Billions of dollars goes to research by scientists that continue to try to disprove the Bible from the first chapter.

A Biblical view of the Shroud

April 10, 2010

My faith is in the word of God, and everything else has to measure up to that. But my faith came based on real-world evidence. Meaning, just like Paul’s and the apostles’ faith, my faith came after “many infallible proofs”. (Acts 1:3) Biblical Christianity is an evidence-based faith.

But now, having had more than enough in my lifetime to plant my feed solidly on unshakable ground, my faith in the Bible no longer rests in such “evidence” as creation science any more than it does the Shroud of Turin.

Over the Easter weekend I watched a Discovery program about the Shroud of Turin and there is a convincing case presented therein. They say they can only corroborate the history back to its appearance in Turin, but I’ve only heard of one candidate for where it came there from. Plus I have heard of evidence from earliest times that the Orthodox representation of Jesus’ face in icons from the earliest years were based on the face in the shroud.

I don’t worship images, but there is nothing wrong with discussing physical forensic evidence any more than there is discussing historical and documentary evidence for Jesus’ resurrection. What some Christians forget is that Paul repeatedly pointed to real-world evidence for Christ’s bodily restoration to life, eyewitnesses and all.

I was extremely skeptic when I first heard the hoopla, and thought the Roman hierarchy was kind of foolish to allow scientific scrutiny of probably another fake. After all, it was a Roman Catholic icon –albeit not officially recognized by the papal hierarchy– but then the science started leaking out. Compare it to the situation with creation science, sometimes darwinists uncover the best evidence for a young earth age, then present it as their own evidence! It’s like God deceives them into kicking themselves in spite of themselves!

That said, here are things to consider.

All the members of the science team, including the ones who still deny both the shroud’s relationship to Christ and who deny Christ himself, all say that they have NO IDEA how anybody could produce such a fake today, let alone someone in the Middle Ages.

There are marks that are INVISIBLE to the human eye that match areas where bodily fluids would be in a crucified body on the face that ONLY show up under special late-20th century photographic methods.

The shroud has been analyzed by specific graphical computer software that found that it has actually a three-dimensional impression, a phenomenon that no painted image on a flat surface has ever emulated.

The carbon dating has been shown now to be from a patch attached in the Middle Ages. The original plan was to take pieces from different areas of the cloth for reliability, and with various attending, but it was done by just a couple of guys in a room apart. I think the ones that snipped it still insist it is a fake based on the carbon dating, which is a very peculiar situation.

The pollen botanist on the panel assures us that its pollen says it is from the Palestine area, and consistent with the mix found in other comparable artifacts from the FIRST century.

There’s a lot more but there you have it…

As an interesting side note, Elvis Presley’s half-brother tells us that when they found him that morning, he had two books open in front of his prone body. One was the Bible, and the other was the Shroud of Turin. Some say he was seeking for answers in his despair.

I believe that suspicion of more sinister explanations of that death are reasonable…

Who to hear? The Smarter-Than-Thou Snots, or God’s Foolish Things?

April 9, 2010

Somebody who doubts that the KJB is “the” word of God for today’s world, says it like this:

“If one group that is telling me something are respected Evangelical scholars, and another group are rabid KJVOs, I am going to choose to go with the first group until I have decided for myself.”

___Well, well, let’s see what the Bible says about these “respected Evangelical scholars”:

John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

Matthew 23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

Matthew 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Matthew 23:34 ¶Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

John 7:45 ¶Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

These “respected Evangelical scholars” need a Nicodemus:

John 7:51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

But of course the “respected Evangelical scholars” really have a monopoly on the carnal knowledge of the word:

John 7:52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
53 And every man went unto his own house.

That’s because 1 Corinthians 8:1b…we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

What kind of people does God use to tell the truth?

1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
