Before and outside that, in the pre-Christian cultures, all of what you consider vices were common: human and infant sacrifice, imperial conquest of neighbors, looting of neighboring peoples, and even the ancient “civilized” cultures like Greece and Rome were soaked in brutality like slavery, enjoyment of gladiator spectacles, the subjugation of women, the burying of wives alive in the king’s grave and the rest of it.

In post-Christian cultures we get the return of brutalities and evil. Sometimes evil reared its ugly head even in cultures that are known as Christians today when men got ascendancy that did not act like they believed in Christ. It took real Christian who walked the talk to put an end to many of the evil practices of pagans and atheists, right up to the 20th century.

Even now, the worst evil regimes of the 21st century are the officially atheist ones in North Korea, while China is lessening it reign of terror to the extent it tolerates the believing Christians in its midst.
